The EA Suswatch Network is currently implementing LVEMP II Civil Society (CS) Watch project. This is a three-year initiative of the EA SusWatch Network, implemented from November 2011 to October 2014, with support from the Government of Sweden. This project seeks to lobby and advocate for realization of results-based performance from the Lake Victoria Environmental Management Project (LVEMP II) and implementation of the East African Community Climate Change Policy (EACCCP).
As part of EA Suswatch Network’s LVEMP II Civil society watch project monitoring work, studies have been carried out in the selected areas within the 3 River catchments of Nyando in Kenya, Simiyu in Tanzania and Katonga in Uganda. The case studies sought to analyse¬ changes realised within the communities under the 3 intervention areas of water supply and sanitation, renewable energy supply
and aquaculture a result of LVEMP II project interventions. Baseline studies which were carried earlier on in August 2012 provided the bench mark for the studies. This is the second study with the first studies being carried out in August 2013.
