In Uganda areas of Mountain Elgon especially Bugisu Sub-region and downstream communities in Butaleja and Karamoja are flooding leading to displacement of thousands of people. The road infrastructure has been most affected with bridges washed away leading to marooning of many communities that are in need of food and shelter. In Bugisu area, more than 300 houses have been submerged leaving many homeless.
