Uganda Coalition for Sustainable Development (UCSD)

Background

The Uganda Coalition for Sustainable Development (formerly the Uganda NGO Rio + 10 Coalition) has since 2001 been working as loose network of more than 50 NGOs with a Secretariat formerly hosted by Joint Energy and Environment Projects (JEEP). By the end of 2003, there have been achievements as well as growing challenges. The move was also prompted by the challenges of growth and expansion since its inception in 2001, and the added role in the next couple of years of co-hosting the International Network Secretariat (INS) of the Sustainability Watch project to be housed by Albertine Rift Conservation Society (ARCOS). The Steering Committee made a decision in January 2004 to begin an independent office in a central location in Kampala. Uganda Coalition for Sustainable Development has now been registered as an independent NGO in Uganda Read more about UCSD>>>>
